NO BENDING / NO BREAKING
THIS IS AN ENTRY LEVEL CLASS. ANYONE HAVING DRIVEN IN HOBBY OR MODIFIED IN THE LAST 12 MONTHS AT RGS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO COMPETE IN THIS CLASS. ALL CARS MUST PASS TECHNICAL INSPECTION BEFORE BEING ALLOWED ON TRACK.
LEGAL ENTRY
4 cyl. cars only, production model. No turbo engines. Sedan Coupe, Station Wagon, and Pickup truck are okay. No vans or convertibles. No 4 wheel drive. Front engines only. Must be in original location of all drive train components. Must have bucket type seat or racing seat. All glass, chrome, and plastic must be removed. No mirrors.
BUMPERS
Front and rear must be automotive type. All reinforcement must be behind the bumper. No sharp or rough edges. Bumper may be no wider than body and must be equipped with two (2) hooks. Pickups may run standard pickup bumpers.
WHEELS AND TIRES
Any steel or aluminum wheel will be permitted up to 6 inches wide, measured inside bead. 235 or lower series is the widest tire allowed. street tires only. No mud or snow tires. No square sides.
BRAKES
Must be operated on all 4 wheels and must lock up all 4 wheels during inspection. No brake shut-off devices allowed or proportioning devices allowed.
SUSPENSION
Stock only. No racing parts. No spring spacers.
STEERING
Gear box (sector) must remain in stock location. No center steering. Steering wheel locks are to be removed. Steering wheel disconnects are allowed.
ENGINE
4 cyl. vehicles only. Maximum 500cfrn.2bbl. carburetor. Engines must remain stock. No side draft carb. No rotary engines. No turbo. Engine must be in stock location. Exhaust must not exit on race track. Stock Fuel Injection may be used. Stock fuel injection must have some automatic shutoff for fuel pump. HEADERS ALLOWED. No machine work on block, head, or intake other than for repairs. All engines must produce 15 inches of vacuum @ 800 RPMs.
Compression can not exceed 175 lbs.
TRANSMISSION
STOCK: Must have working clutch. Must have working reverse and neutral. Drive shaft must be safety looped in front and must be painted white. Two piece drive shafts must be double looped and painted white. No cutting of flywheels other than for resurfacing.
FRONT WHEEL DRIVE CARS MUST RUN OPEN DIFFERENTIAL, NO WELDED SPIDER GEARS.
SAFETY
All cars must be equipped with an approved three (3) inch wide safety belt and two (2) inch wide shoulder harness with a quick release buckle. All belts and harnesses must be attached to frame and/or roll cage. The shoulder harness and seat belts recommended not to be more than 1 year old, and can not be more than 3 years old. Helmets must be of approved type, and designed for auto racing. Fire extinguisher must be fully charged and track approved. Quick release MANDATORY. Carburetor must be equipped with two return springs, one mounted to the front and one mounted to the rear. Fire suit MANDATORY and racing type seat RECOMMENDED. A safety net with quick releaseis MANDATORY. Must have screen on windshield area. No radiators in driver's compartment. No rear radiators. Must have kill switch accessible from outside of car.
ROLL CAGE
Minimum 3 point roll bar. Bars to be welded on plates and welded to floor. All cars must have outside door plate 12 inches wide and a minimum of 1/8 inch thick. Must be bolted not welded past door post to door post: or a minimum of 3 bars in left door. Car without roll bar must have 1 '/4 inch pipe bolted behind driver. Driver's door may be cut to clear door bars.
BODY
No trimming of sheet metal other than for tire clearance. Must be stock body. No sharp edges. No mirrors. No cutting out body or interior for lightening of car.
BATTERY
Must be securely mounted. No battery allowed in the same compartment as driver.
FUEL
Gasoline only. Av Gas ok. No NITRO OR METHANOL!
FUEL TANK
Fuel tank must be painted brightly and securely mounted.
FUEL CELL MUST BE LOCATED IN THE TRUNK COMPARTMENT WITH A FIREWALL BETWEEN THE DRIVER.
CAR NUMBERS
Must be registered with track officials. Cars should be numbered with large legible numbers on both sides on top and rear panel. Letters on side of car should be in contrasting color from body, be at least 4 inches thick at least and at least 20 inches high. Top numbers should be at least 4 inches thick and 30 inches high.
